Conditions:

• Some endotracheal tubes have a spring within the cuff inflator. This must be secured and insulated from the patient’s skin to prevent thermal injury.
• No associated probes (such as a temperature probe) are permitted.

Bottom Line: MRI is permissible if conditions are met.
