- If manufacturer approved as MR condition: MR permissible
- If manufacturer approval cannot be found:
- Determine device composition from manufacturer information.
- Entirely nonmetallic or non ferromagnetic (e.g., platinum) devices are MR permissible.
Comments:
- The McGee stapes prosthesis is ferromagnetic and is unsafe. Do NOT perform MRI in patients with this particular device
