Conditions:

  • If manufacturer approved as MR condition: MR permissible
  • If manufacturer approval cannot be found:
    • Determine device composition from manufacturer information.
    • Entirely nonmetallic or non ferromagnetic (e.g., platinum) devices are MR permissible.

Comments:

  • The McGee stapes prosthesis is ferromagnetic and is unsafe. Do NOT perform MRI in patients with this particular device
