Conditions:  Take precautions to limit and monitor for symptoms of thermal injury.

Comments:

• Consider use of dry cold packs over the tattoo during MRI.
• CAUTION in patients who cannot communicate or sense pain.

Bottom line: MRI permissible. Monitor for thermal injury.
