Abandoned Subcutaneous ICD Lead

Risks:  Thermal

Conditions:  Abandoned subcutaneous ICD leads are MRI permissible with thermal precautions with no waiting period after implantation. If the pulse generator is present, treat as an MR Conditional ICD. Please be aware this differs from abandoned intravascular leads; see Abandoned Intravascular Pacer and ICD Leads.

Bottom line: MRI permissible immediately after implantation.
